Ladies and gentlemen this feature has finally arrived!!… This woman is one of my absolute favorite beauties of all time… I met this woman at a car show in San Pedro summer of 2015… and I immediately recognized that she had soooo much potential… I just had to get to know her!… Fast forward 3 years later... |>>>... I have watched her star continue to shine and now I am the self-proclaimed President of her unofficial fan club… Alliyah Becerra!
I have to admit this feature took me absolutely waaaaaaaay too loooooong to complete! (Sorry !) First there was just my usual anxiety… when I have the chance to photograph such beauty as Alliyah… I find myself trying to make every picture absolutely perfect… I obsess over every square inch of pixels… When the truth is I really don’t have to do much, because a model like her is already so perfectly amazing… Alliyah fans, I hope you can forgive me for such shameful delay… I hope you guys enjoy the images as much as I do! So without further adieu…
Where are you from? How long have you been in Los Angeles?
I am Los Angeles County born and raised. I was born and grew up in Whittier, and plan to live in Southern California the rest of my life. If opportunity takes me elsewhere, then so be it, but ultimately I know I'll find myself back, finishing off life in this beautiful City of Angels.
You’re the perfect example of a woman with the “beauty and the brains”… The smile of angel & the body of a goddess… with a degree in broadcast journalism… are there any other hidden talents or traits about you that may surprise others?
I grew up a dancer. I've practiced styles anywhere from ballet, to folklorico, to hula. My childhood dreams consisted of me becoming a Laker Girl or an NFL cheerleader.
However, during and after high school, my practice lessened due to my busy schedule. I still find time to drop in dance classes, and often take dance inspired fitness classes like barre and Pilates.
Although my dreams may have took a different route, I am extremely happy with where I am now. I am just as passionate about broadcast as I was with dance. Dancing will always hold a special place in my heart and still allows me to escape to a careless time of my childhood. Put a dope beat on, and I'll be the first in the room to start twerking ;)
Who’s career do you admire most? And why?
Everyone who knows me knows I am a Ryan Seacrest fanatic. He's dipped into everything from radio, to red carpet and television show hosting, to even producing. I find him so inherently admirable and charismatic.
It is undeniable that he is extremely talented, but he pushes his talents to the limits by being such a hard worker. He puts such a dedicated twist on a career that may seem like fun and games to most. I always tell people I want to be the female version of Ryan Seacrest.
What are your professional career goals?
I hope to have a career as a sports or entertainment broadcaster. Whether that be on red carpets, on the sidelines, on the radio, etc... I'm open, and love it all.
When did you really start to believe you could pursue your dreams?
Probably when I finished college and started taking gigs as a freelance reporter. The amount of good feedback I got on doing something I've waited and trained so long to do made me think... "Wow I may actually have a shot here." I'm very critical of myself, so sometimes I do feel like I'm not talented enough, but the good feedback and encouragement from family, friends, and fans definitely keeps me going.
What has been the most exciting thing about your professional journey?
Modeling: Being published in the Tilted Kilt's 2015 calendar as Miss December, it was such a long process but I got to travel and shoot for a brand I've held so close to my heart. I felt so honored to represent Los Angeles in a national calendar.
How would you like to see the next 5 years play out for you?
I hope I can secure a job as a reporter for a major entertainment or sports company. I also would like to have traveled to several new countries.
Besides me, who is your biggest fan (again remember I am her fan club President)?
Probably my best friends, we always hype each other up and are very supportive of another. Aside from them, I owe a lot of my security to my mom. I definitely don't have your traditional 9-5 job. Every day I'm at a different location, different hours, working with different people. My mom has always been there too, not frowning upon that, but rather reminding me of how cool my job is. My dreams are large, there are only room for so many big broadcasters in LA, but my mom has always made my dreams seem possible.
If you could meet any three celebrities and thank them for what they meant to you growing up, in no particular order would say?
1) Ryan Seacrest - he is my all-time idol professionally 2) Beyonce - she is the epitome of the type of woman I strive to be: strong, beautiful, vocal, talented, and a kick-ass dancer ;) . I've been rocking with Bey since I was 5 years old bumping Destiny's Child. 3) Ellen DeGerenes - I admire her career and the brand she's created for herself over the years. She's funny, brave, and just has an overall glow that beams out of the TV.
What’s the best advice someone has given you in this business?
Never compare yourself to others. This idea can seem impossible in the modeling industry, but the sooner you can master it the more at peace you will become. There are so many different looks that are perfect for every project out there. There are so many different forms of beautiful!
What advice would you give others?
Do what you love. I've always struggled with trying to maintain a certain image. As an aspiring broadcaster, it can seem inappropriate to be "too sexy". But I love to model and feeling confident, and I love broadcasting. I'm so grateful to live in a time where it can now be acceptable to pose provocatively and be credible. I plan to devote my career to challenging this standard and proving people wrong. Living for myself and through my standards was a challenge at first but it has been so empowering and has brought me so much happiness!
Thank you Alliyah for this exclusive photo shoot and interview with ACXImages.com... it has brought us all so much happiness! ;)
